Obviously good quality requires time. But frankly, how fast I can deliver a good quality text depends very much on the type of text. In general, I can do between 2500w and 3000w a day, if the whole day is available to me. However, this is no more than a general rule. If the text requires a lot of creativity, this speed goes down. But there are also many varieties of texts I could do somewhat faster and still deliver good quality (litigation in the lower courts tends to be straightforward translation and is often required at short notice; articles of association and many texts of corporate law (terms and conditions, employment terms etc.) are drafted with standard terminology, which I may either know or have in my own database).
For any kind of text it applies that if you want good quality, I will charge more than my usual rate as soon as I will need to do more than 3000w a day. However, if you are badly in need of a translation, I am also always willing to do more than the 3000w, without any or only a small surcharge, if you are willing to accept a rough translation.
